Quartz countertop with Bacteriostatic Protection

Silestone® quartz is the only one to offer Bacteriostatic Protection in its composition using a unique technology based on silver ions to prevent the spread of bacteria. Thanks to this formula, kitchen and bathroom counters offer high value-added protection.

The density of the material (non-porous) prevents bacteria and fungi from growing. Quartz-based composite is therefore ideal for food preparation in the kitchen.

SILESTONE COUNTERTOPS | STAIN RESISTANT

Silestone quartz countertops are highly stain resistant. If a stain occurs, it is usually easy to remove. Before treating stains, try to remove the stain with a soft, damp cloth with soap and water. For sticky spots, use a blade to scrape the quartz surface first. Then, contact us for our instructions depending on the type of stain. Quartz maintenance and cleaning.

Daily Cleaning and Maintenance

Due to their low porosity, Silestone are surfaces that are highly stain-resistant during domestic use. To clean Silestone, Granite au Sommet recommends Stonetech neutral ph cleaner for Quartz. To finish, rinse with plenty of water and dry with paper towels or a soft cloth.

Hard water stain from limestone

Use cleaning vinegar with a damp sponge. If the stain persists, you can use anti-limescale products diluted with water; never leave it on for more than 2 minutes; repeat the process if necessary. Rinse with plenty of water and dry with a soft cloth. Silicone or Sealant Stains It is advisable to remove them immediately after their appearance. To do this, use a horizontal blade and CleanColorsil, and scrub with a sponge. If you do not have CleanColorsil, you can use well-known brands to remove silicone. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Cleaning Stubborn Stains

For more stubborn stains, the following cleaning is recommended:

Grease stains

Apply Q-Action or Vim® Actifizz® Multi-use spray to the stain and rub with a sponge until it disappears; repeat the process if necessary. Then rinse with plenty of water and dry the area. *Note: in Canada, Vim® Actifizz® Multi-use spray can also be used. 7

Cleaning of Difficult Stains

For difficult stains, pour the Q-Action product (or Vim® Actifizz® Multi-use spray) onto the area in question and leave to act for 2 minutes. Then rub with a soft sponge (for polished finish), rinse with plenty of water and dry the area. If the stain persists, contact us we are expert in Silestone.

Resistance to impact

One of the characteristics that sets our surfaces apart is their high impact resistance. However, any type of blow should be avoided in those areas which, due to the work undertaken by the manufacturer or professional, remain fragile and exposed (sharp corners, edges without bevel, of small thickness, etc.).

General Precautions for Use

• Avoid standing water on the surface for extended periods of time. Areas near sinks are the most sensitive.

• Do not cut directly on the counter surface with sharp objects.

• Use a trivet.

• Do not use outdoors or in places exposed to high ultraviolet radiation.

• Do not place hot pan or pan that were on the cooktop.

• Do not use water repellents, sealers, varnishes or similar products.

• Do not repolish the surface.

• Do not place heavy objects on countertops.

• Do not use solvant, acids or products with a PH greater than 10. If you use bleach or a solvent, you must rinse with plenty of water and never leave them in permanent contact
